My sister and I designed a baby shower for one of our nieces. We made the decision to have it in the fellowship area of the neighborhood church because it was a large guest list. We had the baby shower on a Saturday afternoon. The fellowship section has big round tables that seat ten folks. We moved 1 table off on its own to be the gift table. We covered this table with a smooth pink table cloth; our niece has found out she is having a girl. We set the bassinet in the center of the table. We made the decision to use our presents for the baby shower party decorations. I had obtained a pink and white baby blanket, which we draped over the side of the cradle. We pinned several rattles and other infant toys to the blanket using diaper pins. We then showed the little ensembles that my sister had purchased. We finished the baby shower party decorations for the gift table by placing a big stuffed bear into the cradle. It's so much fun to decorating for a baby shower!
For the food service table we had an array of fresh-cut flowers from the neighborhood florist. She used soft pink carnations, baby's breathe and daisies for the arrangement. We determined that no other baby shower festive decorations needed to be placed on this table. We did have pink napkins that we put on this table, together with a cake that was ornamented with a stork holding a tiny doll in a pink frosting blanket.
We had also ordered a corsage for our niece and one for every of the new grandmothers to be. We felt that the room looked very good and we wouldn't have to spend plenty of time cleaning up baby shower party decorations because of the fact that they would all be sent home as gifts to our niece.
